A Belleville Khoury League Program

The purpose of the Southwest Illinois Select Baseball League is to provide a well-structured competitive select baseball program as an alternative to the traditional unstructured select leagues in Southwestern Illinois. In doing so, many of the undesirable aspects of the traditional select programs may be eliminated, including the sometimes-excessive travel, high costs of registration and lodging, and effort required to find games, tournaments, umpires and fields.

Many players often find that the traditional recreational leagues offered in the area are not sufficient in providing a challenging environment for many advanced players. Parents often seek out select leagues as a way of helping their players continue to grow in terms of competitiveness, skill and experience. It is the goal of this league to provide such an environment. As the league grows, changes may be made from time to time to ensure that this goal is sufficiently met.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTION: What does it cost to play in this league?

ANSWER: $950 per team. This includes umpires, fields, field preparation, baseballs, and lights as needed. For the most part, teams just show up ready to play.

QUESTION: When are the games scheduled?

ANSWER: Games are scheduled on Friday evenings, Saturday evenings and if necessary Sunday afternoons.

QUESTION: When does the season begin and end?

ANSWER: Games are scheduled from the beginning of August through the end of September with a playoff tournament scheduled at the end of September.

QUESTION: Where are the games played?

ANSWER: All games will be played at Belleville Khoury League park located behind St. Elizabeth's hospital. See Google map or Mapquest map.

QUESTION: How many games will we get?

ANSWER: Each team will play at least 12 games, possibly more depending on the number of teams registered and each team’s success in the playoffs.

QUESTION: How many players can we carry on our roster?

ANSWER: Twelve Active Up To 3 Reserve. Reserve players must be on original roster to be eligible for any game. Lineups may not change during games. Both boys & girls welcome.
